Massachusetts Woman Accused of Brutally Killing Attorney Boyfriend on Houseboat
A chilling story has just been uncovered in Boston that is sure to make people in Massachusetts shudder as they hear more and more startling facts about the accused murder of a top lawyer on his houseboat and the woman now arrested for it.
Nora Nelson, a 24-year-old girl who had been living with 65-year-old attorney Joseph Donahue, is now in a very serious case after the prosecutors accused her of stabbing him an incredible 67 times and trying to get rid of his body. The murder supposedly occurred on the houseboat of Donahue that was moored in the city’s Charlestown neighborhood.
When police first arrived at the scene in February for a welfare check, it was for a different purpose. Instead of something expected, they were shocked out of the blues and met by Nelson, who not only offered them a fake name but also answered the questions about Donahue in a manner that was described by the prosecutors as “contradictory and nonsensical”. Unlike anything else, things here were just getting more bizarre.
Yet, when they entered the floating apartment, Donahue’s body was located, and it was wrapped in a carpet, tied with duct tape, and weighted with dumbbells. The carpet had been concealed near a glass door of his bedroom. It was only when medical officials did an autopsy that it was confirmed Donahue had, besides several other wounds, two very deep stabs to the head and chest. Quite a fragment of the blade was in his forehead while a search and rescue squad found the coordinate in the marina water.
To make the matter worse the crime scene was already gory, the detectives not only found two pink prosthetic nails used for female hands on the body of the dead attorney, but Nelson also confessed that those nails were hers. Plenty of red-colored spots were spread around the houseboat, mainly a bed sheet which was hung to keep the sun out of Donahue’s room. A member of the Donahue family, a golden retriever named Champ, was also found strangled, as stated by the necropsy.
After she had been arrested, Nelson was still suffering from mental instability. She simply used another fake name – “Mary” – at the police station and was behaving as if nothing serious had happened. An expert from the court later assumed that she might be a little bit mad, but the diagnosis was overruled when she started taking drugs. However, it was pointed out by the expert that Nelson is still not aware of the significance of the murder charges against her.
Now she is in custody with no bail set and has been charged with the crimes of murder of the first degree and killing an animal. The next hearing is scheduled for the 15th of July, where the mental state of the person standing trial and the legal matter of the person being accused of the crime will be emphasized more than likely.
