ABC News Suspends Veteran Correspondent Terry Moran After Controversial Social Media Post

ABC journalist, Terry Moran, has been given his marching orders by ABC News, his employers for decades, due to his social media post against former President Donald Trump and his confidant, Stephen Miller. The construction of the episode took place on Sunday when Moran commented on X (previously known as Twitter) that was both blistering and channeled the sentiment of political and media circles.

To be more precise, Moran in his tweet called both Trump and Miller ‘’world-class haters’’ and in this way, he went on to reveal what, in his opinion, was the very cause of their actions. Trump’s hatred, he stated, was deliberate – ”as a means to an end” for the purpose of self-promotion whereas Miller, he alleged, ran on hate only, labeling it his ”spiritual nourishment.”

It was a no-holds-barred post. The portrayal of Miller in that light that Moran gave us was not merely that of a political strategist as he as well portrayed him as a person who was driven by hatred and was a force of good this way. He thought it wasn’t Miller’s intelligence that characterized him, but rather his ”bile”.

In a statement to the press, the White House was quick to distance itself from the remarks and it echoed the need for ABC News to take steps. One of the points she made was that the comments Moran made seemed to bring bad publicity to the network and called for accountability.

ABC News responded to the attack on it by suspending Moran, although no details about the reason for the suspension or how long it would last were released by the network.

The controversy led to a broader debate over the use of social media by journalists that still continues, especially when personal views give way to extreme political discourse. As of now, Moran has not said a word on what happened while the media field is closely following how ABC News will resolve the problem potentially in the following days.
