Teen Arrested in Connection to Fatal Shooting of 12-Year-Old in Compton

In a senseless and tragic accident that shocked Compton, a 17-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder and shooting of the 12-year-old boy. The victim was shot on Friday afternoon at Fig/Oleander Park, about 4 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Emergency responders reached the scene and found the teenager victim with a bullet wound to the abdomen. All was done to save him but in vain, and he brutally died at a local hospital.

Police acted swiftly to arrest one individual following the attack. Following evidence obtained on the ground and yet to be published, an arrest warrant was issued against a 17-year-old boy. He was in Los Angeles and was arrested early Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

The teenager was arrested and subsequently taken in for questioning to a juvenile detention center. No report yet on what occurred before the time that the shootings were actually committed, and those remain under investigation.

Horrible and ghastly as the murder of such a young life was to have occurred in so merciless, savage a way, but shocked our town and all and each of us still shocked.
