Actor Devin Harjes Passes Away at 41: A Talented Star Remembered
Friends and family of the actor Devin Harjes are sad over the news of the actor’s death. Devin was a well-known personality in many great TV dramas for his powerful and real-life-like acting; he left us on May 27 at the age of 41 in New York City.
Harjes’ fans cannot forget him for his roles in popular TV serials such as Boardwalk Empire, Daredevil, Manifest, and Gotham. His character of Jack Dempsey in Boardwalk Empire was one of his best acting scenes. The performer also appeared in Manifest as Pete Baylor from “Meth Heads” and in the show of Daredevil as a nurse from Rikers Island. He also played a guard in Gotham named Clyde but the character was uncredited.
However, the untold story of the tattoo-faced Pete Baylor was not so typical.
Devin who was born on a hot summer day in Lubbock, Texas in July 1983 wasn’t sure he wanted to become a fiber of the entertainment jungle. His first years were spent as a veterinarian, taking care of animals, mainly horses, which were his great passion. Finally, one day, he decided to follow his dreams of being an actor, and first, he started in the theater in the Dallas-Fort Worth region and then continued on to New York City, where he worked doing not only a variety of student activities but also off-Broadway ensembles, subsequently, landing him eventually to indie films.
Hollywood is engulfed with news of Harjes playing a part in the indie film The Forest is Red. The movie pushed Devin to stardom receiving an award as the Best Actor at the Tolentino International Film Festival in Italy thereby giving out the overall picture of a person who had the courage and artistic brilliance. Additionally, such films as The Boyz of Summer were what he had worked in, providing him with a work record that was both extensive and dedicated.
Not only was Harjes into acting, he also had a playful nature. He was fanatical about martial arts and a regular presence in the gym. He used to joke that he could not get hurt there because “it’s safer than getting kicked by a horse in the face,” which was a humor oriented toward his Texas roots.
His parents, Randy and Rosanne Harjes, and his sister, Trich Harjes will carry on the memory of Devin Harjes, who passed away.
Although his life ended prematurely, Harjes left a legacy behind of performances that touched people and his short life was a real source of inspiration for everyone.
